black snake moan
craig brewer's new film. it's a southern fried drama, that's for sure. samuel l. jackson and christina ricci had wonderful performances and became their characters, but other than that the movie was lacking in areas. i enjoyed it, but i didn't gain anything from watching it. it was no hustle & flow.

fuck
a documentary about the word fuck. the film explores all avenues of the word and how it is used in society. you have comedians, filmmakers, politicians, conservatives, liberals, news anchors all giving their viewpoints as well. the film was very entertaining and i learned a few things. it's good for a laugh.

danielson: a family movie
i really liked this documentary. it's about daniel smith who started the band danielson famile and his journey exploring faith based music and it's success in the indie rock world and popular culture. he talks about his other projects and his art and you see how sufjan stevens got his start as a filler for one of the brothers and then began opening for brother danielson (one of many other projects.) danielson is one band that has always intrigued me and i found this film very thought provoking and interesting. i like to see how some people are truly moved by god and how their faith runs so deep.
