the namesake

a film about tradition and heritage and loving your family. i really enjoyed this film and it's message. don't ever turn your back on who you are.

in the land of women

a cute film about finding yourself and finding the true meaning of love.

wonderland

another winterbottom film. this one was a truthful film. no movie magic or fake scenarios. a true portrayal of life and how relationships go wrong and how people are forever self-absorbed. i really liked it because of these simple facts.

i finally watched the series finale to six feet under. i miss that show. the finale was perfect for me though.

i leave for nyc on thursday morning. i have no idea what the city has planned for me, but i know i'm going to have a blast.

and the list goes on...

kicking and screaming

this one is noah baumbach's first film. it's about post-college angst. this one hit home on a certain level, because i'm not sure what i'm doing with my life after college.

american gun

a film on an important topic. i didn't hear about this one until i watched the independent spirit awards. worth watching.

wayne coyne makes me smile. i loved this documentary.

elizabeth I

goodness.

life has been full of goodness as of late. unexpected visitors, new friends, online crushes, bike adventures. i'm enjoying this city again. it's weird how spring does that, it breathes life back into your lungs. i guess that's the whole point though, right?

vacation starts in t-minus 18 days and counting. new york awaits a texan visitor. i acquired all the necessary phone numbers today. i'm still undecided about whether or not i want to make an attempt at hanging out with ryan. that could be awkward.

saturday at work was interesting. nutt and i were discussing one of our regulars who moved away that i have a huge crush on that morning. three to four hours pass and he walks in. take into account that he moved to oklahoma city, which is six hours away. this threw me off my game. he's also going to be in town this upcoming weekend. i have to make a move, i have to, this is getting ridiculous.

sunday, i hung out with jillian and watched the prestige. i'm still confused. there are so many twists and turns, but it was original. we caught a few editing errors and the movie magic is gone since we watch so many.

lately, i've also watched:
ordinary people
derailed
finding home
breaking the waves
before night falls

my favorite was ordinary people. a beautifully acted movie. before night falls was also well done. i've always been a fan of julian schnabel's visual art, so i didn't expect any less from his film.

i ate vegan soft serve ice cream made from oats on sunday. can i just say one word: DELICIOUS!
