little children
i loved this film. it's a inside look at life in as a suburbanite. we have a stay-at-home mom, a stay-at-home dad, a father who works too much and a mom that does the same. we have a convicted sex offender moving into the neighborhood and everything is about to change. there's no happy movie magic or happy endings, it's like you are peeping inside these people's life for a bit and just checking things out. i say, watch it! let me know what you think.

shortbus
i didn't love this film or hate it. it's an interesting film, with an interesting story behind how it was made. i'm not sure what else to say. john cameron mitchell made a film about sex and it's called shortbus. if you like his work, check it out. you might love it, but most people hated it.

the eyes of tammy faye
eeeh. it was an interesting idea, but lacked in the story department. i was more interested in the fraud, the scandal of their ministry than i was her life. plus, my dvd decided to stop working when there was 10 minutes left of the film. i didn't care enough to contact netflix and get another copy. strong in the beginning and just lost my attention at the end.

the last king of scotland
wow! i don't know what else to say. forest whitaker is amazing in the role as amin. the cinematography is beautiful. once again, a story i knew nothing about and told so well on film. watching all these films about africa is scratching the travel bug inside of me.

once
a wonderful little irish film/musical about a man who loves his music and a story about love in a different way. one of the best films i've seen lately and it's done on a shoestring budget. featuring the gentleman from the frames with all original songs. a must-see.

mad hot ballroom

a bunch of my friends raved about this film. i only found it mediocre. i loved that they taught kids how to ballroom dance and that it really helped some of the kids, but the story was lacking. i was bored, and found it to be quite long. so, i'm not such a huge fan. good effort though.

flight of the conchords
this show is hilarious! i can't wait to see more episodes.

old joy
i throughly enjoyed this movie. it's relaxing and beautifully shot. it's about how a friendship loses that connection as you grow older and grow apart and how you try to bring it back together in so many words. it's one of those movies that sticks with you.

permanent midnight
probably the best movie ben stiller has ever made. his performance is phenomenal. the movie itself is a harsh look at life with a drug problem and how you try to hold it together but inevitably lose.

the lives of others

more german cinema at it's finest. a friend told me to go see this film and i finally did on this rainy sunday evening. i suggest everyone go see it while you can. you won't be disappointed. i'm still digesting it or i'd go into more detail.

blood diamond

a wonderful surprise. i enjoyed this film. i thought leonardo dicaprio and djimon hounsou did a fantastic job at portraying their characters. i didn't know much about the world of conflict diamonds versus ones that are conflict-free.

bukowski: born into this

an interesting film about a very intriguing character. bukowski is an original. i enjoy his writing, and i didn't know that much about his life. he led a captivating one. this film is another worth watching. you see his hardships and the struggles he had in his life.
